Custom Veneer Panels
The Greenville Business Incubator in Greenville, Maine, through its partnership with the University of Maine’s AEWC Center, is seeking an incubator tenant to commercialize custom veneer panels. Custom veneer panels use a composite lumber product such as Delta Strand™ lumber as the core material with the addition of a custom veneer panel to all visible surfaces. The product can be used in custom moldings, cabinets and other interior applications. This product is intended to be an assembly operation rather than manufacturing; although a possibility would be to manufacture either or both the Delta Strand™ lumber or veneer on-site.
Start-up requirements:
  • $500,000 for equipment
  • $500,000 operating funds
  • 2 - 3 employees
  • Partner with contractor for direct retail of product; and with a manufacturer to supply the necessary component parts
  • 3 – 6 months development time once investor and lease are secured
The Greenville Business Incubator, an 18,000 ft2 manufacturing facility in Greenville, Maine, offers tenants:
  • Prime manufacturing space with lease lower than market rates, proximity to wood supply, cost reducing arrangements on power rates, lower equipment costs
  • Support services include phone answering, storage, high speed internet, clerical and receptionist, conference space, custodial, and others
  • Technical assistance and testing expertise from the ISO 17025 certified Advanced Engineered Wood Composites Center at the University of Maine
  • Business support including on-going training, business planning assistance, legal and financial services, assistance with accessing financing
