Letter to the Piscataquis County Commissioner
September 17, 2004

Piscataquis County Commissioner
51 East Main Street
Dover-Foxcroft, Maine 04426

Dear Eben, Tony and Tom;

On behalf of the Moosehead Development Council, we write to express the Council's support for the proposed Piscataquis County Economic Development Bond appearing on county-wide ballots November 2, 2004.

The Moosehead Development Council, made up of community leaders who are concerned with the future economy and community make-up of the Moosehead Lake Region, recognizes the importance of this proposed bond to our region's future. The funds to be made available to Greenville for the expansion and enhancement of its Industrial Park, as well as the expansion of the Greenville Business Incubator, will increase our region's quotient of industrial jobs in expanding fields. Moreover, the addition of public infrastructure throughout Piscataquis County will leverage private investment and create jobs for the benefit of all county residents. Even those residents not employed by these new jobs would still benefit from the addition of payroll dollars to the local economy and property value to the tax base. Clearly, public investment which results in private investment helps the entire county.

The Moosehead Development Council enthusiastically endorses this bond proposal, and urges the Piscataquis County Commissioners to actively seek the bond's passage. Sincerely;

Luke Muzzy, Co-Chair
John Simko, Co-Chair
