Mr. Owen Wells Dear Mr. Wells; On behalf of the Moosehead Region, we invite you and the Libra Foundation to review some plans and objectives we have developed for our region which we believe would bolster our economy and enrich our communities. We seek your input to our plans because, after having reviewed Libra's investments and objectives in recent years – and after touring the Aroostook County based Maine Winter Sports Centers - we believe our respective goals and objectives are much the same. The studies attached – “Greenville at the Crossroads: The Dire Need to Grow Our Population and to Enrich Our Community” and “Choosing a Path: Objectives and Strategies to Strengthen the Greater Greenville Community and Economy” reflect concerns shared by all of us. As you can see, we are working together to find a means to recreate and to diversify our economy. We believe a mixture of nature-based tourism, forest products manufacturing and technology commercialization will strengthen our economy and enrich our community. Our request to you, if you have interest, is to review these studies and to meet with us to share your insight. Do you believe this direction will yield us the outcomes we seek? Would you suggest a different strategy? Knowing your work in other Libra projects – especially the Maine Winter Sports Centers – we believe your insight would be extremely valuable. Our organization represents multi-sector community leadership across the Moosehead Lake Region. Greenville is a geographically isolated service center community with as much challenge at its door as potential for success in the future. We regularly work together to overcome these challenges and to reach some measure of success: your counsel would be of great interest and of great benefit to us.
