Town of Greenville receives $500 gift from Telford Aviation
GREENVILLE - Telford Aviation Group has donated $500 to the town of Greenville as a gesture of thanks for the quick response to the Sept. 23 plane crash on Blair Hill.

A letter was sent to the town of Greenville last week from Telford Aviation Group, the company that owned the plane, extending sincere thanks to the many people who helped throughout the incident.

The donation was split between the police and fire departments. The $250 donation for the police department was put into the DARE account and the fire departments portion went into the departments apparatus account, said Town Manager John Simko. "What Telford Aviation Group did was a very nice gesture. They were very pleased with, and thankful for, the efforts of the police and fire departments," said Simko.

Simko wrote back to the company president Telford Allen III, thanking him for his donation, noting that although the police and fire department services in the town are a public service, the town would gratefully accept the donation. Simko also wished the company the best of luck and a continued recovery for the injured pilot, James Cox Jr. of Searsmont.
