The ABC Extreme Home makeover show chose the Goodale family in Wells, the lobsterman that caught his arm in a winch and had to cut it off in order to survive, as their family to recieve a new home. The door knock to announce to the family was on September 27, and the keys for the new home were handed over on October 4; one week from start to finish. The log home was donated by Katahdin Cedar Log Homes and is 5,000 square feet with lots of special features. There were close to 2,000 volunteers, including hundreds from 39 other states, who did ground work, electrical, plumbing, heating and building to make this project finish on time. Everyone donated their time, tools and talents. As one person commented. "This project was the high spot in my life." The show aired November 13 on ABC.
