SHIRLEY - The Shirley Community Church has changed its Sunday worship service to 10 a.m. at the church on West Road in Shirley Mills.

For the past year and a half, services were at 9 a.m. during the summer and 10 a.m. in the winter months. The change to 10 a.m. is expected to be year-round in order to accommodate more worshippers who have indicated a later starting time would be easier for them.

"We are a growing church, and we want to accommodate as many people as possible," said Dr. Everett L. Parker, church pastor and teacher. "We have a number of people who come some distance to attend church, and if itıs easier for them at a later time, then the church council wanted to do that."

In addition to the Sunday service, Bible Study is held each Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Several people are currently involved in a study of the New Testament, and others may join at any time. To confirm the Bible Study time (the meeting occasionally changes because of conflicting schedules), call Dr. Parker at 695-3163.
