The Bear Facts
GREENVILLE - On September 13, Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Biologist Doug Kane will show slides of black bears and talk about the ecology and habitat of the Maine Black Bear. In the northeast, prime habitat consists of a
forest canopy of hardwoods such as beech, maple, and birch, and coniferous species. Kane will discuss the interactions of human activities and bear populations, the status of the bear population in Maine, and the natural
history of the animal. This is an excellent program for children and adults.
The program, sponsored by the Natural Resource Education Center, will be held on the first floor in the Community House in Greenville at 7:00 PM on September 13. There is handicapped access to this area. For more
information, please contact Program Coordinator Tarun Johns at 695-2045 or e-mail Tarunj@moosehead.net
