A late addition has been added to the Moosehead Historical Museum's schedule of escorted bus trips, and this one promises to be a biggie for gospel music fans! It is an overnight trip to Worcester, Massachusetts on December 2-3 for a very special performance of the Gaither Homecoming Christmas show. Bill and Gloria Gaither are well known in Christian music circles for the nearly 1,000 hymns and Christian songs they have written over the past several decades. In 1991, they brought together many of the old-time gospel groups for a daylong "sing" in Indiana. And thus was born the "Gaither Homecoming" series which continues to this day. The Homecoming programs are offered around the world, and whether it's venues around the U.S., London, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, throughout Canada, or in Europe, these events are almost always sold out long in advance. At the Centrum Centre in Worcester, thousands of people will gather to hear scores of Christian artists in this special Christmas program. Many people have seen the Gaither videos, or watched the Homecoming on television, but if you haven't visited a live event, this is your special opportunity. But Moosehead Historical Museum only has 40 tickets, and many are already sold, so if you'd like to go, you must contact the office (695-2909) immediately to secure seating. The cost is $120 per person, double occupancy, and that includes motorcoach transportation, deluxe Artists' Circle seating at the Centrum, overnight at the Comfort Inn in Westborough, Massachusetts, and continental breakfast the following morning. The trip will be fully escorted. For this trip, pickup points will be in Greenville, Monson, Abbot, Guilford, Dover-Foxcroft, Dexter, Newport, Pittsfield and other points along Interstate 95 south as needed. All seats are sold on a first-come, first-served basis with reservation confirmed by check. |
