Highly acclaimed for his performances across the United States, Canada, and Europe, there is no place where he is more appreciated than in his home state of Maine. The Bangor Daily News recently recognized him as one of the 58 most memorable Mainers of the 20th Century. His eleventh album, "Ambition", was released in late 1999, and he has published two books. Other artists who have recorded his songs include Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Hal Ketchum, Pete Seeger, and John Denver. With lyric verse and driving guitar illuminating the issues facing small towns and rural landscapes, the rich wilderness heritage of Greenville on Moosehead Lake sets the perfect stage. Looking out over the verdant woodlands, the sparkling lake, and the old weathered mountains should only prove to enhance the impact of Mallett's message in song.
