Historical Museum open along with Lumberman's Museum

GREENVILLE JUNCTION— The Moosehead lake Historical Museum on Pritham Ave will be open for docent-guided tours, includingthe Lumberman's Museum, from 1-4 p.m. on Friday, August 13. The office willbe open for reading and research from 8-4. Cost of personally-guided tours is $4 per person for adults, $2 for children.

On Saturday, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tours (same cost). There will be a special emphasis on the Lumberman's Museum during the tours.

The Lumberman's Museum contains hundreds of woods implements from the 1800s through the early 1900s. The centerpiece is our authentic and restored bateau (riverboat) used on the Roach River log drive through the 1960s. It was abandoned in a barn at Kokadjo until donated to the museum several years ago.

There are also many antiquarian chainsaws, boat motors and more, as well as a photo display of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and more.
