What promises to be one of the finest motorcoach tours ever offered by the Moosehead Historical Museum will occur in September with a two-day escorted trip to King's Landing and Fredericton, New Brunswick. Included in the trip will be a guided tour of King's Landing, a world class living history museum in the St. John River Valley, a city tour of Fredericton with a local guide, a riverboat cruise on the St. John River, and overnight accommodation at the riverfront Holiday Inn outside Fredericton. Cost of the entire package (which also includes a meal at the historic King George Inn) is $130 per person, double occupancy, or $180 per person, single occupancy (double or single occupancy refers to the number of people sharing a room). There will be two trips, the first on September 11 and 12, and the second on September 17 and 18. Limited seating is available on each trip, but reservations should be made immediately. Highlight of the trip will be the King's Landing settlement. The 19th century village includes more than 70 historic buildings, with over 100 costumed "residents" who act as guides. Recipient of the "Top International Attraction Award" in 1999, King's Landing is the largest collection of 19th century New Brunswick artifacts in the world. Those traveling with the Moosehead Historical Museum tour will enjoy the comfort of an air conditioned motorcoach chartered from Cyr Bus Line and a professional tour guide. Pickup points will be in Greenville, Monson, Abbot, Guilford, Dover-Foxcroft and Bangor/Brewer. Reservations should be made by telephone (695-2909) and after confirmation, payment should be send to P.O. Box 1116, Greenville, ME 04441. You may also email at history@midmaine.com. |
