GREENVILLE - More great "Music in the Gazebo" comes your way on Friday, August 6, 7:00 p.m. when Sweet Grass, Maine's all-female bluegrass band performs at the Town Gazebo located adjacent to the Katahdin Steamship and Parking lot in the Village of Greenville. Bring your picnic blanket or lawn chair, a sweater in case of a cool lake breeze, and sunglasses to view a classic Moosehead sunset while this local quartet of musical Muses takes you on a trip to Bluegrass heaven! "SWEET GRASS" includes Lori Smith on bass, Nellie Kennedy on mandolin, Elise Sproul on banjo and guitar, and Nancy Merril on guitar and bazooka. Lori, Nellie and Nancy all play bass in their other bands (Norstar, Evergreen and Union River Band respectively) that consist of all men. "3 Bases And A Banjo" was one idea tossed before the name "SWEET GRASS" became official. These entertaining women take turns singing lead and harmonizing to toe-tapping tunes and heartfelt ballads. Rain site: Ready Workers Community House on the corner of Lakeview and Pritham Avenue. Donations for the series are welcomed!!!
