Moosehead Historical Museum offers bus trip
Thursday, July 24, 2003
The Moosehead Historical Museum is offering another of its popular bus trips to Quebec Province on August 12, and this one promises to be very special because it combines elements of our most popular stops over the past seven years as well as a new one.

Highlight of the trip will be a visit to the Quebec Museum of Civilization in Quebec City. The museum is recognized as one of the premier museums in Canada, and offers a wide variety of collections and exhibits. For those who do not speak French, exhibit information is also in English.

In addition to the Museum of Civilization, stops will be made at the popular Vauchon Bakery in St. Marie and Father Nature in St. Georges. The Vauchon Bakery is one of Quebec's largest French bakeries, and those on the tour will visit the outlet store where they can stock up on goodies at prices greatly reduced from retail.

A stop also will be made at Father Nature, a combined vegetable market, French cheese shop and specialty shop in St. Georges. Earlier in the day, lunch will be at the Tomas Tom buffet in Quebec City. The buffet features hundreds of items including uniquely Canadian dishes, Oriental and so-called "American" dishes.

Cost of the day trip is $55 per person, and that includes transportation, admissions and lunch. Pre-registration is required by calling 695-2909. If no one is in the office, leave a message on the recorder and someone will return the call. The office, located in the Carriage House, is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. After confirming reservations, checks should be sent to the Moosehead Historical Museum, P.O. Box 1116, Greenville, ME 04441-1116.
