The Alumni Band is a 12 to 15 piece "big band", the majority of members being graduates of Foxcroft Academy from some time back. Selections include tunes from Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and other artists of the "Big Band" era. The Alumni Band has been playing for about 20 years, and donations received from performances go into scholarships primarily to benefit Foxcroft Academy. The ensemble has performed for weddings, local celebrations, dances, fund raisers in Augusta, Bangor, the Coast, Lincoln, and almost every town in Piscataquis County. The Alumni Band has also played a couple of times on the steamship "Kate", while sailing on Moosehead for its annual fund raiser. Along with a vocalist, the band consists of 5 saxes, 3 trumpets, 2 trombones, keyboard, drums and bass, and its repertoire includes over 100 old favorites.
