Scott MacMaster named Police Chief – Town of Greenville

GREENVILLE - The Town of Greenville appointed Scott MacMaster of Greenville as the next Chief of Police Wednesday, July 11, 2007. MacMaster has been serving as the Interim Chief since the resignation of Chief Duane Alexander.

MacMaster has over 10 years experience in law enforcement, having worked for municipal police departments in Hallowell, Gardiner, and most recently Greenville where he served as Sergeant. He has had experience as a school resource officer, a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) member, and is a trained and experienced investigator.

"We are very pleased to have Scott MacMaster as Chief of Police. His qualifications and demonstrated ability to work with other agencies and groups, as well as his down-to-earth approach to solving problems, made him stand out from a very strong and qualified field of candidates", said Town Manager John Simko. "We have high expectations for the Greenville Police Department under Scott's leadership", Simko added.

The vacant position of Police Sergeant will be advertised immediately, and other positions within the department are being evaluated for possible restructuring. "I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Greenville community as Chief of Police", MacMaster stated.

Scott MacMaster, 34, and his wife and two children live in Greenville. MacMaster is also a member of the Greenville Volunteer Fire Department.
