Greenville Independance Day Fireworks Cancelled until September Fly-In
Friday, July 11, 2003
Greenville's fireworks were rained out July 4th. Considering the wet weather expected all weekend and other fireworks displays scheduled, Greenville has CANCELLED its West Cove Fireworks display until Saturday, September 6 at roughly 9:00 PM.

As this is the 30th anniversary of the International Seaplane Fly-In, we feel this will be an apt way to celebrate and to entertain the crowds of observers later into the evening. Initial discussions with the Fly-In Committee, the Moosehead Lake Region Chamber of Commerce, Central Maine Pyrotechnics Company, and the Maine State Fire Marshall's Office indicate this date will work for everyone. The Town will further explore this date with the Fly-In Committee and the MDOT to ensure that the firing of fireworks from a barge in West Cove will not result in an undue safety risk. Until we're told we can't or shouldn't shoot on this date, we will move forward and have fireworks during the Fly-In on Saturday, September 6.

Please spread the word and thank you for your patience.
