Moosehead Historical Society's Bus Tour
Wednesday, June 26, 2002
If you enjoy a live stage performance, you won't want to miss the Moosehead Historical Society's next bus tour, set for Wednesday, July 10.

The Lakewood Theater in Skowhegan will be the destination for the trip, with a deluxe buffet lunch included, along with a special performance of "I Remember Mama." Cost of the trip, including transportation, lunch and the matinee performance is $45 per person.

Those traveling to Lakewood (Main'e Summer Theater) will depart from the Moosehead Historical Society at 10:30 a.m., with a noon arrival at Lakewood. Departure for the return trip will be about 4 p.m., and the bus should return to Greenville by 6 p.m. Stops to pick up travelers will be made as necessary in Monson, Abbot and Dover-Foxcroft. The group will have prime seating in the orchestra section of the theater.

"I Remember Mama" was both a stage hit and a black and white movie. It is the heart-warming portrayal of life in San Francisco in the early 1900s. A daughter remembers the trials and tribulations, triumphs and tragedies of growing up in an extended Norwegian family presided over by Mama and her mysterious bank account.

The noon buffet is a new feature at Lakewood Theater. Previously, it was possible to order a meal at the Lakewood Inn Restaurant, but the buffet is a new feature with a new executive chef.

As always, reservations are necessary for the bus trip. To make a reservation, call the Moosehead Historical Society office at 695-2909. If no one is in the office, leave your name and telephone number and your call will be returned. The escorted trip will be in an air-conditioned Cyr Bus Lines coach bus equipped with toilet and comfortable seats.
