The "World's Largest Used Book Sale" will be held at the Masonic Temple in Greenville on July 3-6 (Wednesday through Saturday). Thousands of used books will be on sale by donation only. The sale is a day longer than in previous years, and will be open on the Fourth of July. Location of the book sale has changed to the Masonic Temple on Pritham Avenue because the facility has more room to display books, magazines and other materials offered for sale. The book sale will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Funds from the sale will benefit the Shaw Public Library in Greenville. This is an annual fundraiser for the library, sponsored by library trustees. The Masonic Temple is on Pritham Avenue near the Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital, or about a half mile west of the previous location. There will be signs on roadside directing browsers to the sale. Thousands of books will be available, including hardcover, paperback, reference, fiction and non-fiction, children's books, puzzles and magazines (and much more!). Everything will be offered by donation, so plan on filling a box or two for your summer reading. Donations of used books are still be accepted at the library or by calling Dr. Everett Parker, chair of the board of trustees, at 695-2909 or 695-3163. |
