Hearings set for Burnt Jacket LLC

BEAVER COVE - Public hearings have been set for the rezoning application submitted to the state by Burnt Jacket LLC for 246 acres of its land on the Burnt Jacket peninsula in Beaver Cove.

Hank McPherson of Burnt Jacket LLC has asked LURC to rezone 246 acres on the peninsula to allow for the development of a 31-lot residential subdivision. A full copy of the plan is available at the state Land Use Regulation Commission office on Lakeview Drive in Greenville, or online at www.maine.gov/doc/lurc.

LURC commissioners set the public hearing for August 1 and 2 at the Beaer Cove Town Office. The first session, starting at 6 p.m., will consist of open public comment only. The public is not required to submit written testimony prior to the hearing, or to file for intervenor status in order to testify.

The second session, beginning at 10 a.m., will consist of testimony from teh applicant and any applicable intervenors, followed by cross examination and redirect and rebuttal. Persons seeking intervenor status must file the appropriate petition with LURC by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 29.
