GREENVILLE: The Natural Resource Education Center and the Moosehead Marine Museum will begin the summer lecture series with Railroads in the Moosehead Region. The program will be at the Community House in Greenville at 7:00 PM, June 24th. Mr. Wayne Duplisea will share his extensive knowledge of the history of railroads in this region and the important role that they played in the development of the natural resources and recreation. Mr. Duplisea, now retired, was a fireman and later an engineer on the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for 43 years. He ran both diesel and steam engines over the Greenville branch. Mr. Thomas N. Tardif, Manager Property and Environmental of the Montreal, Maine, and Atlantic Railway, will tell of the present role of the railroad. He will speak about the current system and what it is currently carrying across the rails. This program is free.
