Bangor Area Native Joins Senator Snowe's Staff
Jake Ward appointed Press Secretary

WASHINGTON D.C. - Jake Ward a native of Orrington, Maine, has joined the staff of Senator Olympia Snowe. A 1997 graduate of Bangor’s John Bapst Memorial High School, Ward will serve as Senator Snowe’s Press Secretary in her Washington D.C. office.

Senator Snowe welcomed Ward to the staff, saying “I am very pleased to bring Jake on board. As a Maine native, he brings a great deal of talent, energy, and local knowledge to my staff. As press secretary he will prove an essential addition, and we are very happy to have him.”

Prior to joining Senator Snowe’s office, Ward served as Director of Communications for Representative Dan Lungren, Congressional representative of California’s 3rd District and former state Attorney General.

“Working in politics is very rewarding when you believe in the person you are working for and know the people you represent. I’m very excited to join Senator Snowe’s staff,” Ward said.

Born in Greenville, Ward moved to the Bangor area in 1994. His family still resides in Orrington. Ward attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, graduating in 2001 before attending Northeastern University in Boston where he received a post graduate degree.
