Thursday, March 01, 2007
GREENVILLE - The Board of Selectmen last week began to sift through a list of possible non-budget items to be placed on the warrant for the annual town meeting in June.

At their meeting on February 21, the board was handed a list of 12 possible items. Selectmen will in the next two months decide which of the items will be placed on the warrant for a town-wide vote.

Among the items on the preliminary list (in no particular order):

  1. Belmont Road discontinuation: legal issue over ownership of road from Route 15 to Belmont property. Town Manager John Simko recommends discontinuing section of road and returning land to abutters.
  2. Maple Street paper street easement: fight-of-way issues.
  3. Potential sale of town land off of Maple Street.
  4. Sale of town land at end of Crafts Road.
  5. Mill Street right-of-way and leasing of land for dock: Placement of town-controlled dock at end of Mill Street.
  6. Leasing airport land for non-aviation purposes: Town may want to lease unused land near airport for additional revenue.
  7. Solid waste management ordinance.
  8. Traffic and parking ordinance.
  9. Harbor master/moorings regulation ordinance.
  10. Emergency management ordinance.
  11. Facility lease agreement for Greenville Business Incubator and Composites Technology Corporation.
  12. Community Development Block Greant applications: if town is interested in applying.
