Selectmen look at non-budget items for town meeting Thursday, March 01, 2007 GREENVILLE - The Board of Selectmen last week began to sift through a list of possible non-budget items to be placed on the warrant for the annual town meeting in June.
At their meeting on February 21, the board was handed a list of 12 possible items. Selectmen will in the next two months decide which of the items will be placed on the warrant for a town-wide vote.
Among the items on the preliminary list (in no particular order):
- Belmont Road discontinuation: legal issue over ownership of road from Route 15 to Belmont property. Town Manager John Simko recommends discontinuing section of road and returning land to abutters.
- Maple Street paper street easement: fight-of-way issues.
- Potential sale of town land off of Maple Street.
- Sale of town land at end of Crafts Road.
- Mill Street right-of-way and leasing of land for dock: Placement of town-controlled dock at end of Mill Street.
- Leasing airport land for non-aviation purposes: Town may want to lease unused land near airport for additional revenue.
- Solid waste management ordinance.
- Traffic and parking ordinance.
- Harbor master/moorings regulation ordinance.
- Emergency management ordinance.
- Facility lease agreement for Greenville Business Incubator and Composites Technology Corporation.
- Community Development Block Greant applications: if town is interested in applying.
