By JONATHAN PRATT - GREENVILLE JUNCTION - On a very brisk evening, the West Cove Ice Racing Association (WCIR) put on one of the coolest (literally) shows around. On Saturday, February 16, they held the 4th Annual Indian Hill's "Night on the Ice". Indian Hill Trading Post donated the money necessary to light up the night. Meanwhile, Greenville Steam Plant donated fuel for the lights, and Century 21 Moose Country Real Estate sponsored the purchase of trophies for those who qualified for such. WCIR volunteer, and gatekeeper, Mindy Hanson said, "The Association would really like to thank Indian Hill, Greenville Steam and Century 21 for making the night event possible." The race results were as such: Open Chain Class - 1st place feature - Randy Campbell, 2nd place feature - Dave Irving, 3rd place feature - Darren Robbins. Open Spike Class - 1st place feature - Colin Arey, 2nd place feature - Paul Percoski, 3rd place feature - Sean Bolen. Youth Class - 1st place Heat - Max Goodwin, 1st place feature - Max Goodwin, 2nd place feature - Gregg Mathews, Jr., 3rd place feature - Nikki Hamilton, 4th place feature - Colby Snell (Snell was making his debut, at the tender age of eleven). Truck Class - 1st place Heat - Anthony Cirulli, 1st place feature - Anthony Cirulli, 2nd place feature - Andy Witham, 3rd place feature - Russell Scott. Four Cylinder Class - 1st place Heat - Dave Irving, 1st place feature - Sean Bolen, 2nd place feature - Darren Robbins, 3rd place feature - Dave Irving. Six Cylinder Class - 1st place Heat - Randy Campbell, 1st place feature - Randy Campbell, 2nd place feature - Doug Whitney. The WCIR holds races every Saturday at noon. Cost is $7 per carload, $10 for a pit pass.
