Rides will be in a new location due to record snowfall
Monday, February 11, 2008
DEXTER - As part of the Dexter Winter Festival, The North Country Riding Club will once again be offering Horse drawn Sled Rides on Saturday, February 16, 2008 on the Number 10 Road at Dana Wilbur's home. They previously had been scheduled for Hamilton Farm in Dexter, but because of the deep snow, the rides have been moved to another scenic spot. In the past we have had over 220 people come and enjoyed the rides.

Misty Blue Acres Carriage and Wagon Rides (www.mistyblue-acres.com), is harnessing their team of beautiful Belgium's and offering rides to the public starting at 10 am and going until 2 pm.

Bring your blankets, your family and friends for a scenic ride through the winterland wooded roadway for only $3 for Adults, Youths $2 and anyone under the age of 5 rides FREE!

Hot drinks and goodies will also be offered as part of NCRC fund raising efforts for the 2008 season.

We hope you will come and enjoy a beautiful relaxing sled ride with North Country Riding Club and the Misty Blue Acres.

Directions to Dana Wilbur's (Sew'n Sew Machines) -- from the Radar Runs and Snow Sculptures on Little Lake Wassookeag Beach, go a 1/2 mile up the Crockett Road (off Route 23), take a right onto the Number 10 Road -- go 1 mile and it will be on the right. The new location is also right before the Wassookeag Snowmobile Club, where there is going to be a lot of activity all weekend long.

Thanks go out to Mark McKusick, Gary Bennett, Bill Cherniske, Dana Wilbur, Steve Wilbur and many more who are moving mounds of snow and helping make this family event possible during Winter Festival.
