Town Manager


Welcome to Greenville, Maine > Town Manager

Town Manager John Simko returned to his post September 3, 2013, following nearly three years work in the private sector for a Greenville-based technology company (Pepin Associates, Inc.).  John previously served as Greenville’s Town Manager from April 2000 to November 2010.  During that time, he oversaw many different infrastructure projects, including construction of the current Municipal Building as well as the Greenville Business Incubator and the complete reconstruction of the Airport’s Main Runway (14-32) as well as the Junction Wharf.  Economic Development efforts locally and across the region continue to be a priority for John.

A native of Piscataquis County, John graduated from Foxcroft Academy and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Environmental Studies from Bowdoin College.  He has previously worked in Washington, DC for then-Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell.  John has worked for Maine municipalities for more than 15 years.  He is also a trained structural firefighter and continues to volunteer for the Greenville Fire Department, having previously served as Chief.  He is also an experienced Intermediate-EMT and works per diem for CA Dean Ambulance Service in Greenville.

 John makes his home in Greenville with his wife Amanda, daughter Ashley and son Samuel.
